I want to start with this simple Rolex, which looks so good with its distinctive dial color. It is the Rolex Oyster Perpetual 41 mm, reference 124300, on an oyster bracelet. The Oyster Perpetual line was introduced in several colors, and green is one of my favorites in the Oyster Perpetual range.

Market price (Sept 2023): ~$12,000.

Next is from the Submariner lineup. In the picture, Virat is seen wearing the Rolex Submariner 126610LV, which the watch community affectionately calls either "Kermit" or "Starbucks". The watch boasts a cerachrom bezel insert made of green ceramic and a black dial with large luminescent hour markers.

This watch also has a rotatable bezel, which is a key functionality. Its 60-minute graduations allow divers to accurately and safely monitor both diving time and decompression stops.

Manufactured by Rolex using a hard, corrosion-resistant ceramic, the Cerachrom bezel insert is virtually scratchproof. A luminescent capsule on the zero marker ensures legibility, regardless of how dark the surroundings are. The bezel's knurled edge is meticulously crafted to provide excellent grip underwater, even when wearing gloves.

Virat also owns the black dial Daytona 116500LN, which I personally like to call the "Blacktona". Some people refer to it as the "Panda Invert".

In 2016, Rolex launched the reference 116500LN with a Cerachrom bezel. The retail price for this model was around $13,500. However, due to its high demand and limited availability, prices in the secondary market rose well above the original retail price.

At the Watches and Wonders event in 2023, Rolex unveiled a new version of this reference.

Market price: ~$32,000.

He doesn't just have one 116500LN. In fact, he has the other version — the Panda, as can be seen in the picture. In my opinion, the Panda looks much cooler than the Blacktona. What do you think?

The next Daytona in Virat Kohli's watch collection is one of my favorite Daytonas: the green dial Daytona 116508, commonly referred to as the 'Daytona with the John Mayer dial.'

Here's a bit of backstory on why it's named the John Mayer dial: During an interview with Hodinkee, where he showcased his watch collection, Mayer took the opportunity to display one of his prized possessions: the yellow gold Rolex Daytona with a green dial.

He mentioned that it was a great find among Rolex watches. From that moment on, this model earned nicknames like 'John Mayer Daytona' or 'Daytona with the John Mayer dial.' It's worth noting that this moniker has nothing to do with any formal affiliation with Mayer; it's not a limited edition dedicated to the singer. Rather, it simply highlights Mayer's influence as a watch collector.

Introduced in 2016 to mark the 50th anniversary of the Daytona series, the green dial model swiftly captured the attention and admiration of many, securing a unique spot among collectors and racing aficionados. It's no surprise that numerous celebrities, including Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Conor McGregor, David Beckham, Drake, Erling Haaland, and Adam Levine, have been spotted wearing this iconic watch

This is Virat's most expensive Rolex watch: the Rolex Daytona Rainbow 116595RBOW in rose gold. Often considered one of the most colourful, fun, and playful modern watches, the Rolex Daytona Rainbow is available in three different models: rose gold (116595RBOW), yellow gold (116598RBOW), and white gold (116599RBOW). The yellow gold and white gold Daytonas were introduced in 2012, followed by the rose gold reference in 2018.

The rose gold watch boasts 47 sapphires: 36 on the bezel and 11 as hour markers. Yellow and white gold versions have 36 sapphires and eight diamonds for hours. All models feature 56 diamonds on lugs and crown guards, with crystal-embellished sub-dials

Market price: $500,000 - $600,000.

Virat Kohli, an Indian cricketer often hailed as one of the greatest of all time, sports a 39 mm Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Openworked Perpetual Calendar crafted in platinum. The watch's intricate sapphire dial boasts white indicators paired with blackened gold hands. Furthermore, its self-winding perpetual calendar movement encompasses a comprehensive array of features: day, date, moon phases, months, leap years, as well as hours and minutes.

Market price: ~$285,000.

And of course, we can also find some Patek Philippe watches in Virat Kohli watch collection. This highly sought-after timepiece boasts a moonphase function complemented by a power reserve indicator set against its striking blue dial.

Market price: ~$113,000.

Similar to the President of the Philippines, Virat too boasts ownership of the Patek Philippe Nautilus 5980R-001. This exquisite piece, crafted in rose gold, features a flyback chronograph.

Now, I turn to my personal favorite from Virat Kohli watch collection: the Patek Philippe Perpetual Calendar 5270P-014, elegantly set in Platinum with a captivating green dial.

The Reference 5270, unveiled in 2011, stands as a testament to several generations of Patek Philippe's renowned perpetual calendar chronographs. 

The Manufacture has masterfully reimagined this timepiece, presenting a model that is both iconic and distinctively original. The allure of platinum — arguably the most precious and challenging metal to master — enhances the classic design. This is evident in the concave bezel, the gracefully tiered lugs, and the correction push-pieces, which are satin-brushed on the sides and polished on their upper surfaces.
