This got me thinking about the watch collection of Mike Tyson himself, which I hadn't yet covered. So, voilà!

Known as "Iron Mike" and "Kid Dynamite" in his early days, and later as "The Baddest Man on the Planet," Tyson is considered one of the all-time greatest heavyweight boxers.

He's been spotted wearing various luxury watches throughout his career, which is why some of the images in this blog post might look vintage.

Before we dive into Mike Tyson watch collection, I want to share a wild picture of Tyson from his younger days. It's no secret he led an extraordinary life. In the photo below, he's relaxing with one of his tigers. Unfortunately, he had to sell this particular tiger after a distressing incident where it attacked a trespasser, resulting in Tyson paying $250,000 in compensation.

Mike Tyson's most unusual watch acquisition involved a unique Piaget timepiece that he essentially "took" from a boutique, claiming that Showtime, the network airing his fights, would cover the cost. Despite being instructed by Showtime's representatives to return the watch, Tyson threatened to withdraw from a highly anticipated fight, compelling Showtime to pay for the watch to avoid losing the event. True to his flamboyant style, Tyson wore the watch during the fight, making a bold statement.

Young Mike Tyson was spotted wearing a yellow gold Rolex Day-Date 36, reference 18038, featuring a champagne dial, a choice that exudes class and sophistication. This particular model, known for its distinctive and luxurious appearance, is a symbol of success and status, making it a perfect match for an emerging sports star like Tyson.

However, there's a bit of uncertainty regarding the exact model on Tyson's wrist. It could be a Datejust or the Oyster Perpetual. Both watches are iconic Rolex models, each with its own unique features and a long heritage of luxury watchmaking. The Datejust is known for its date display and a slightly more formal appearance, while the Oyster Perpetual is celebrated for its streamlined simplicity and timeless appeal.

For now, we'll lean towards the Oyster Perpetual, recognizing its iconic status and the way it complements Tyson's style. Regardless of the specific model, the Rolex on his wrist signifies a blend of functionality and elegance, much like the man himself.

One of Tyson's most amazing Rolexes is the Cosmograph Daytona Reference 116509-0064. It's retail price is at about $42,000 and is crafted from 18K white gold with a white mother-of-pearl dial. This watch has a COSC-certified 4130 automatic mechanical movement and an impressive power reserve of 72 hours.

The mother-of-pearl dial is in my opinion as flashy as the boxer's face tattoo.
