Horological Sculptures — Where Watch Parts Become Art

Watch Part Sculptures by Dan Tanenbaum

Our horological sculptures collection features the work of Dan Tanenbaum, who transforms vintage watch components into detailed handcrafted sculptures. Gears, springs, pinions, and movements are assembled into new forms — from cameras and firearms to sneakers and birds. Each piece is one of a kind.

Vintage Watch Parts Reimagined

Dan Tanenbaum has spent two decades collecting watches and repurposing their components into sculpture. His range includes the OpTicTock camera series, the Tick Tock Glokk firearms, the Time Bomb grenade sculptures, the GMT Exposition display pieces, and the Time Out Jordan’s sneaker. Each is assembled by hand from authentic vintage watch parts — no two are alike.

The Process

Every sculpture starts with sourcing vintage watch components — movements, gears, springs, and cases. Tanenbaum then assembles them into detailed forms, positioning each part to create structure and visual interest. The mechanical detail is real — these are genuine watch parts, not decorative imitations. The result is sculpture that watch enthusiasts connect with because they recognise what they’re looking at.

For Watch Collectors and Art Collectors

These sculptures work in any setting — home office, living room, or alongside a watch collection. They’re conversation pieces that bridge watchmaking and art. The GMT Exposition series makes a strong desk display, while the larger pieces like OpTicTock cameras or Time Bomb grenades add visual impact to shelves and cabinets.
