John Mayer watch collection is estimated to be valued in the tens of millions - Wow!

During his interview with Hodinkee about a review of his watch collection, Mayer didn't want to miss the occasion to show one of his beloved watches from Mayer's epic watch collection: the yellow gold Rolex Daytona with a green dial.

He said that it was a great steal among Rolex watches. And you know what, just like that, this model got the nickname 'John Mayer Daytona or Daytona with the John Mayer dial.' So now you know why this watch is called so. It has actually nothing to do with him and is not a limited-edition paying tribute to the singer. Here, you can just see that he is one of the most influential watch collectors.

The current market price (July 2022) of the John Mayer Daytona is around $520,000.

Rolex Daytona Rainbow edition is one of the most favorite watches among the celebrities such as Adam Levine, Cristiano Ronaldo, David Beckham, Kevin Hart, Mark Wahlberg, Post Malone, etc. As its name implies, it has baguette-cut sapphires in a rainbow of colors surrounding the bezel. On the lugs and crown guards, white diamonds sparkle as well. John has the yellow and white gold variations available in yellow, white, and rose gold.

During his spicy chicken wings challenge on YouTube, he was spotted wearing the steel version 116520RBOW. This model is selling on the secondary market for around $250,000.

Personally, this timepiece is one of my favorite John Mayer watches!

It undoubtedly has become one of the most sought-after Daytona models nowadays.

On the grey market, it is currently selling for around $44,000.

His next watch is not the Rolex Pepsi in stainless steel, but in fact, Mayer wears the 18k white gold version ref. 116719BLRO launched in 2014 (I bet you thought this was the steel Pepsi). Finally, after seven years, since 2007, Rolex reintroduced the Pepsi insert again for their GMT Master. Moreover, it was the first time ever that white gold was used for the GMT Master line-up. Compared to the steel Rolex Pepsi, the white gold version is heavier. It weighs 225g, around 85 g heavier than the 140g steel Rolex 126710BLNR. This model is currently available on the grey market for about $45,000. 

Another GMT-Master II Rolex in John Mayer watch collection is the Rolex Batman, a watch with blue and black bezel colours. However, he doesn't only have one, but two. 

Yes, the singer has the old and the new generation of Batman ref. 126710BLNR that comes with the jubilee bracelet. In the picture, you see he wears the first Rolex Batman that was released in 2013. 

This one is one of my favourite watches: Rolex Submariner 116619LB with a blue dial and blue Cerachrom bezel. Introduced in 2008, celebrating the 100th anniversary of Rolex, this model was the first Submariner ever made in 18k white gold. It got the nickname 'Smurf' because the blue on this model is brighter than the other models, reminding the watch community of the cartoon The Smurfs. Its market price in July 2022 is about $46,000. 

In September 2021, Mayer took a selfie where the special stainless steel Patek Philippe Nautilus with a sunburst olive green dial stamped by Tiffany & Co. ref. 5711/1A was spotted on his wrist. It retails for $37,800 and sells on the grey market for around $700,000. 

Earlier in 2022, Mayer was seen wearing the 41mm Royal Oak Selfwinding Flying Tourbillon in titanium. Introduced in 2020, this model was actually the first Royal Oak Selfwinding Flying Tourbillon.

The dial doesn't have the typical brand trademark Grande Tapisserie pattern, but it comes with the sandblaster grey dial. The market price is around $250,000. 

During his performance at Bridgestone Arena in Tennessee in April 2022, he was spotted wearing the 41mm white ceramic Royal Oak Perpetual Calendar featuring the day, date, month, astronomical moon, and week of the year. The leap year indication, pioneered by Audemars Piguet in 1955, is also featured on the blue Grande Tapisserie decorated dial. On Chrono24, you can find its market price in July 2022 from $425,000 to $500,000. 

A couple of days after its release in July 2022, American singer and songwriter, also famous as an avid watch collector, was spotted wearing the  43mm Royal Oak Offshore Selfwinding Music Edition 15601BC during his recent performance in Bristow, Virginia. 

The watch, with an attractive blue aventurine dial featuring a vibrant equalizer motif, was created and limited to only 250 pieces worldwide. Moreover, it has an 18-carat white gold case, bezel set with red to blue baguette-cut gemstones, glare-proof sapphire crystal, and case-back. Its tag price is $222,000.

Having a moment to thank his fans in Indonesia around Christmas 2022 on his Instagram, Mayer was seen wearing his new G-Shock DW6900JM22 made in collaboration with G-Shock and Hodinkee. 

The watch features a matte dusty blue case and strap, a more playful combination that is an excellent companion to the first two collabs.

Retail price: $180.

This one is probably the one of the cheapest John Mayer watches.

During their performance for Heart and Armor Foundation benefit concert at The Wiltern in California in September 2023, singer Ed Sheeran performed together with John Mayer. They both were seen rocking the Royal Oak Spiderman.

The new Spider-Man watch, a collaboration between the Swiss watch brand and Marvel, features a detailed 3D Spider-Man crafted from painted white gold within a 42mm elegant frame. Limited to just 250 pieces, mirroring their previous Black Panther edition, it's priced at around $215,000.

In the beginning of March 2024, Audemars Piguet teams up with John Mayer to create a special watch called Royal Oak Perpetual Calendar. 

It's made of white gold and has a cool "Crystal Sky" dial, only 200 pieces, costing $180,700! John Mayer was also announced with a new "Creative Conduit" title for Audemars Piguet.

Audemars describes the dial as inspired by the immense expanse of the sky. Named "Crystal Sky," this dial is crafted through a stamping technique. 

The brass dial plate showcases a dazzling new pattern, featuring irregular shapes that mimic crystals, adding depth and sparkle to the watch. Creating such intricate detail on a stamped dial is challenging. 

The stamping die was meticulously crafted atom by atom using a process called electroforming, resulting in a texture that closely resembles natural crystal.
