Watches at the US Open Tennis 2022 – The championship started on the last Monday of August and continues until 11 September 2022. It is the 142nd consecutive edition of the tournament, held in New York. In this blog post, I will dedicate my time to identifying watches spotted during the event, just as I did during Wimbledon 2022.

The Spanish Rafael Nadal has a habit of wearing his watch during his match. On day 2 of the US Open 2022, he was seen wearing his $1M Richard Mille 27-04 Tourbillon ‘Rafael Nadal.’

I mean, the watch is said to be able to withstand shocks and is very comfortable to wear because it only weighs 30 g (including the strap). Also, I need to mention that Nadal is the pioneer in wearing a watch during a tennis match.

During her match against Anett Kontaveit of Estonia, Serena Williams was seen wearing her Royal Oak Lady Chronograph.

Seeing her wear a Royal Oak on the field has always amazed me. Wondering if the watch was really suitable and able to survive?

Wearing his Royal Oak Chronograph in Rose Gold with a black dial, Offset was spotted hanging out with Bella Hadid at the US Open for Serena Williams’ match against Danka Kovinic.

Former NBA player Steve Nash attends the victory of Serena Williams during Day 3 of the US Open 2022. We can see an Apple watch on his wrist on that day.

Btw, his watch is also worn by some of the Premier League Managers 2022 and some of the World Leaders 2022.

Attending the event with her mother, Zendaya was seen wearing her Cartier Panthere. From what I can see, it is the small model WSPN0006 that retails for $3,950. Please correct me if I’m wrong. 

Jenson Brooksby of the United States celebrates after defeating Borna Coric of Croatia during their Men’s Singles Second Round match on Day Four of the championships. On his wrist, we can see the Gerald Charles Sport GC.2.0.

The professional model, Bella Hadid, gets emotional watching Serena Williams face off against Ajla Tomljanovic in a third-round match on Saturday, 3 September 2022. On her wrist, we can see her Cartier Panthère, where the dial has been set with pavè diamonds and the bezel has been set with brilliant-cut diamonds.

The Russian Daniil Medvedev is introduced prior to his Men’s Singles Third Round match against Yibing Wu of China on Day Five of the 2022 US Open.

Looking at his watch on the wrist, it is definitely a Bovet 1822 Virtuoso VIII Chapter Two with the yellow sub-dials. Well, you can actually go with green and blue or yellow and purple if you’re feeling adventurous or salmon if you want to keep on-trend.

The subdials for the power reserve (10 days, by the way) and the huge date, as well as the smaller chapter ring surrounding the 60-second tourbillon, illuminate brightly at night, thanks to the fact that each of the dials is built of Super-LumiNova.

Sitting next to the stand-up comedian Michael Kosta, comedian and television host Trevor Noah was spotted wearing the platinum Rolex Daytona featuring the beautiful ice blue dial, and also ice blue sub-dials, luminous silver-tone hands and baguette-cut diamond hour markers.

Market price: ~$130,000.

American football running back for the New York Giants of the National Football League Saquon Barkley attended Serena Williams match on Arthur Ashe stadium during Day 5 of the US Open 2022 together with his longtime girlfriend, Anna Congdon.

He was seen wearing his Royal Oak Chronograph with the black dial 26331ST.

Market price: ~$71,000.

Actor Ben Stiller was seen wearing his Panerai watch when he attended the US Open 2022 on 3 September.

It was hard to say which Panerai watch it was, but my best guess is the Panerai Luminor GMT PAM00335.

Market price on the grey market ranges from ~$10,000 – $12,000.

On 4 September, Kal Penn was seen attending the event. On his wrist, we can see an Apple watch but not sure which version.

His watch is also worn by some world leaders and Premier League Manager Eddie Howe of Newcastle United.

Ben Simmons attended day 9 of the US Open 2022, 4th Grand Slam of the season, at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center on 6 September.

His Royal Oak Selfwinding Chronograph ’50th Anniversary’ with the khaki ‘Grande Tapisserie’ dial was seen on his wrist during the tournament.

Frances Tiafoe of the United States celebrates with Bradley Beal after defeating Andrey Rublev during their Men’s Singles Quarterfinal match on Day Ten. On Beal’s wrist we can see one of the most sought-after Rolex watches: Rolex GMT-Master II Pepsi on a jubilee bracelet.

Market price: ~$23,000.

The NBA Player for the Philadelphia 76ers, Tobias Harris, was seen attending the event with Jasmine Winton. During the event, he was seen wearing his Royal Oak with the black dial.

Market price: ~$58,000.

Russian tennis player Karen Khachanov was seen wearing the beautiful Rolex Sky-Dweller with the blue dial during the press conference after beating the Australian Nick Kyrgios in the quarter final.

Market price: ~$29,000.

Iga Swiatek wins women’s title at the US Open Tennis 2022 Grand Slam on Saturday, 10 September, after defeating Ons Jabeur.

Swiatek earned her third Major Slam title with her triumph at Flushing Meadows in New York, the year’s fourth and final grand slam. She previously won the French Open in 2020 and 2022.

Spanish tennis player Carlos Alcaraz Garfia was spotted wearing his Rolex Daytona Black Dial while holding his trophy after beating Norwegian Casper Ruud in a four-set match in the final of the US Open Tennis 2022.

This is Garfia’s first Grand Slam title and this makes him the youngest player to ever win a Grand Slam, breaking the record of fellow Spaniard Rafael Nadal.
