Watches worn by Premier League Managers 2022/2023

The new season of Premier League kicked off last week, on 5 August 2022, and it will end on Sunday, 28 May 2023. We have 20 clubs that will be competing this season. In this blog post, I have compiled watches worn by Premier League Managers in 2022/2023. However, out of 20 managers, I could only identify 16 of them so far. Nevertheless, have an excellent read!

Watches of Premier League Managers: Frank Lampard - Everton

Not only is the Everton manager famous as a professional football manager, but he is also well-known as an avid watch collector. He has some luxury watches in his collection. Most of his watches are Patek Philippe.

During the match between Everton and Chelsea on 6 August, Frank Lampard was seen wearing the classic Patek Philippe Split-Seconds Chronograph 5370P, which I personally love so much!

It has a 41mm platinum case that is 13.56mm thick, water-resistant to 30 meters, and comes with a sapphire display caseback. The high contrast between the radiant blue dial, white gold numerals, white tachymeter scale, and subdials make it extremely easy to read.

Josep "Pep" Guardiola - Manchester City

Pep Guardiola seems to love Richard Mille watches. From my point of view, he has at least three RM watches. The one in the photo is the Richard Mille 010 Manchester City in titanium, made only 30 pieces worldwide.

The watch features the colours of the team (light blue) for the inner bezel, crown and bracelet. The skeleton movement displays hours, minutes, date and variable-geometry rotor.

Mikel Arteta - Arsenal

The head coach of Arsenal, Mikel Arteta, often wears his amazing watch. During the Premier League match between Crystal Palace and Arsenal FC at Selhurst Park on 5 August 2022 in London, the limited edition Rolex GMT-Master II "Sea King" 116710LN was seen on his wrist.

The 40mm stainless steel watch features a black dial with a date window at 3 o'clock, a green second timezone hand, a 24-hour rotatable bezel with a black cerachrom insert in ceramic, and an oyster bracelet.

The watch was made to commemorate the decommissioning of the British Sea-King helicopter used by the British Military operations since 1969.

Market price (Aug 2022): ~65,000

Patrick Vieira - Crystal Palace

Patrick Vieira is a French professional football coach and former player considered one of his generation's greatest midfielders. Now, he is the manager of Premier League club Crystal Palace.

Sadly, I could not see his watch during the weekend match between his club and Arsenal on 5 August. I'm not even sure if he wore a watch on that day. However, he was seen sporting a Richard Mille 035 Baby Nadal during a friendly match between Crystal Palace and Montpelier at Selhurst Park on 30 July 2022 in London.

Market price (Aug 2022): ~260,000

Scott Parker - Bournemouth

Scott Parker has at least two Richard Mille watches. One of them is the Richard Mille 005 self-winding automatic watch features a rose gold case surrounding a skeletonized dial on a black rubber strap with an 18k rose gold tang buckle.

The RM 005 was the first automatic Richard Mille when it was initially introduced in 2004. Richard Mille decided to pair the desired and extremely sophisticated tonneau casing with automatic winding. Then the watch enthusiasts went crazy about it.

Market price (Aug 2022): ~$155,000.

Steven Gerrard - Aston Villa

We used to see him wearing a Patek Philippe Nautilus 5712/1A-001 recently. However, During the weekend match between AFC Bournemouth and Aston Villa, Gerrard wore another watch. He chose to wear the blue dial Rolex Sky-Dweller.

The Rolex Sky-Dweller is a watch that displays the time in two time zones simultaneously and has an annual calendar that shows the date and month with minimal adjustment. It brought these two issues together and put them together with a clever control element: the Ring Order Bezel.

Market price (Aug 2022): ~$31,000.

Erik ten Hag - Manchester United

Erik Ten Hag of Manchester United has a nice watch, at least in my opinion. On the green field, he was seen wearing a 44mm stainless steel Breitling Chronomat with a blue dial. The Chronomat is instantly recognizable for its special rider-tab bezel.

Breitling's history includes the Chronomat in a big way. In 1984, when ultra-thin quartz watches were the norm, Breitling made a big gamble on a mechanical watch with imposing proportions.

Market price (Aug 2022): ~$4,000

Eddie Howe - Newcastle United

Newcastle United had a weekend match against Nottingham Forest at St. James Park in Newcastle Upon Tyn. Unfortunately, coach Eddie Howe was not seen wearing any watch that day.

So I managed to find another photo of him where we can see an Apple Watch Series 3 on his wrist. The photo was taken on the first day of the Austrian Pre-Season Training Camp in Saalfelden, Austria in July 2022

It features GPS, an altimeter, and a powerful processor that lets Siri speak to you.

Retail price (38mm): $199
Retail price (42mm): $229

His watch is also worn by the President of South Africa and the Indian Prime Minister. Read more here about Watches of World Leaders.

Antonio Conte - Tottenham Hotspur

Antonio Conte with Rolex Submariner Date 126610LN

The manager of Premier League club Tottenham Hotspur, Antonio Conte, was seen sporting a Rolex Submariner Date during the match between Tottenham Hotspur and Southampton FC at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium last weekend.

The Rolex Oyster Perpetual Submariner is a brand of sports watches made for scuba diving and produced by Rolex. It is renowned for its water and corrosion resistance.

The current Submariner and Submariner Date models include Rolex Calibres 3230 and 3235, respectively. They have luminous hour markers, a unidirectional rotating bezel with a Cerachrom ceramic insert, and a solid-link Oyster bracelet. They have 300-meter water resistance.

Market price (Aug 2022): ~$16,000

Ralph Hasenhüttl - Southampton

Southampton manager, Ralph Hasenhüttl, was seen wearing a Rolex Milgauss 116400 during the Premier League match between his club and Tottenham Hotspur at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on 6 August 2022 in London.

The Milgauss is simple yet stunning! The watch features a stunning black dial decorated with bright orange accents. The 40mm oyster case is paired with a time-only movement and a smooth bezel. An adaptable look that can be used for both dressy and athletic occasions is also produced by this model.

Thomas Tuchel - Chelsea

Thomas Tuchel with Hublot Classic Fusion Titanium 511.NX.1171.RX

Hublot has been Chelsea Football Club's official global timekeeper and watch partner since 2015. It is not a surprise that the club manager wears a Hublot watch. During the recent Premier League match, the German Thomas Tuchel rocked a 45mm Hublot Classic Fusion in titanium featuring a black dial and black lined rubber strap.

This model is retailed for $7,650, which I'm sure considered affordable for a man reportedly earning a base salary of €8.7 million. He could easily get his hand on other luxury brands, such as Rolex, Audemars Piguet, or Richard Mille.

Brendan Rodgers - Leicester City

At first glance, I thought Rodgers was wearing the ceramic black dial Daytona. But, after a closer look at some of his pictures, I could clearly see that his watch was the discontinued black dial Daytona ref. 116520. If you see the picture, the bezel is not black. Agree?

With the release of the 116520 Daytona in 2000, Rolex unveiled their first entirely in-house chronograph mechanism, the calibre 4130. Watch collectors' demand for the now-discontinued reference 116520 has recently increased.

David Moyes - West Ham United

David Moyes with Patek Philippe Annual Calendar Moonphase 5396

People assume David Moyes of West Ham United was not a watch guy - that is actually wrong. During the match between West Ham United and Manchester City on 7 August 2022, Moyes sports one of Patek Philippe's flagship models: the white gold Patek Philippe Annual Calendar Moonphase 5396.

It features a silvery opaline dial with gold applied hour markers and is completed by a shiny black alligator. This model is a beautiful watch that seems both timeless and modern at the same time. Although complex, it is simple to read. Moreover, it is extremely attractive on the wrist without being overly flashy.

The head coach of Fulham's premier league club and former Portuguese footballer, Marco Silva, owns a stainless steel Cvstos Challenge Chrono II Blue ATO502677 with polished titanium buttons and a bright blue strap.

By the way, did you know that the brand name actually originates from the Latin word "custos" meaning guardian?

Thomas Frank - Brentford

Garmin Forerunner seems to be the only watch that Thomas Frank has in his collection. I have never seen him wearing any other watch than this one (please correct me if I'm wrong).

With the Garmin Forerunner 235 sports watch, you can get detailed statistics and real-time data, including information about your heart rate. Measure your distance, pace and time. Keep track of your daily steps, distance, calories and your sleep. The sports watch gives you all the data you need to become a more efficient runner and reach your goals.

We knew that Jürgen Klopp was usually wearing his IWC watch. However, nowadays, he wears the limited edition Royal Oak Offshore 'Liverpool* on a red strap. Because this is a new model, I couldn't find any detailed information anywhere. I will update it once I hear something from Audemars Piguet.
