Pharrell Williams and His Mind-blowing Watch Collection

Pharrell Williams, known as the "true cool person" of the music industry, is renowned worldwide for his amazing style and demeanor. He is a producer, musician, songwriter, and fashion magnate, and seems to have essentially accomplished everything. 

As a global celebrity, it only makes sense that Pharrell Williams would wear the finest timepieces available, and in this case, you would be right. Pharrell especially adores the brand, Richard Mille. He has been spotted wearing so many Richard Mille watches just like Prince Joaan of Qatar, some F1 drivers, Ed Sheeran, etc. However, it doesn't mean that Richard Mille watches are the only watches we can find in his watch collection.

Before we start talking about his amazing watch collection, I want to use this opportunity to congratulate the multi-talented guy on his new role as the new Men's Creative Director of Louis Vuitton.

The way in which he breaks boundaries across the various worlds he explores, aligns with Louis Vuitton’s status as a Cultural Maison, reinforcing its values of innovation, pioneer spirit, and entrepreneurship. 

I want to start with one of my favorite Richard Mille watches that was released in September 2022. 

While doing mukbang, the new Men's Creative Director of Louis Vuitton was seen wearing his $1.2 million dollars Richard Mille RM 88 Tourbillon ‘Smiley’ in ceramic and rose gold. This is a playfully colorful, poetic, and lively creation limited to 50 watches 

It took three years to build the highly innovative and technological RM 88 Automatic Tourbillon Smiley watch. Each of its ornamental components is a cheery manifestation of the Smiling world: a flower in bloom, the sun's warm rays, a succulent pineapple, a cactus in bloom, a pink flamingo, and a rainbow of vibrant colors. The cocktail glass in this neon pop scene offers a joyful drink to be enjoyed drop by drop.

In this picture, he wears the out of space Richard Mille RM52-05 Tourbillon. It features a brown cermet case, a caseband in Carbon TPT®️ and a dial that allows you to see an imaginary scene on Mars. Limited to 30 pcs worldwide and priced at $969,000.

According to Richard Mille, this model is the first watch to bear the name Pharrell Williams. It is a masterpiece conjuring this multitalented person's visions, fantasies, and other imaginary projections into a pure contemporary and technical tourbillon caliber. 

This model is a collaboration between Richard Mille and the legend Sylvester Stallone: Richard Mille RM25-01 Tourbillon Chronograph Adventure. 

The goal of the technical approach adopted by the RM 25-01 was to provide a tool that would allow these brave souls to get around safely, wherever they might be.

One of the interesting functions is the compass. It consists of a fixed bezel and a rotating bezel, both crafted in DLC-treated grade 5 titanium, with sapphire glass. It attaches to the case with a bayonet mount. Its cover is made of Carbon TPT®, and includes a mirror with an opening at 12 o’clock that permits greater precision when orientating with the compass needle.

The titanium bezel can be exchanged for a ‘daytime’ bezel should the owner so desire. This second bezel, in Carbon TPT® and grade 5 titanium, possesses marks for the four cardinal directions in addition to a 360° graduated disk and a 24-hour scale.

On the secondary market such as Chrono24, I saw that it sells for around $1 million. WOW!

Richard Mille unveiled a new 30-piece limited edition tourbillon in honor of four-time Formula One World Champion Alain Prost, which might be the wackiest watch ever created. Richard Mille and Alain Prost, who are friends, worked together to create the RM 70-01 Tourbillon watch as a result of their joint efforts to create a mechanical watch exclusively for cycling.

The pusher at 2 o’clock can select any of the five rollers linked to the odometer, whose readout is visible in a titanium window. Once a roller has been selected, pressing the pusher at 10 o’clock advances the roller by one. The only effort required of the user is to add the day’s distance to the previous total. 

Its retail price is $815,500.

Richard Mille RM 74-02 Tourbillon in 18k rose gold and gold carbon TPT®️ fitted with a rare RM open-link bracelet was spotted on his wrist.

As layers of Carbon TPT®️ are manufactured to alternate with sheets of gold, the casing features an exclusive combination of a noble metal with a composite. This technical achievement took four years to produce.

The retail price is $620,000

The next RM watch seen on his wrist is the Richard Mille RM-011 NTPT Lotus F1 Romain Grosjean.

The watch was after its production in 2014, tested by the French Formula driver 1 Grosjean, to see how it withstands the extreme G-forces that occurs during a race.

The retail price is $1,000,000.

Pharrell has been spotted a lot with different Richard Mille watches on his wrist. One of the earliest ones we noticed is the RM 52-01 Tourbillon Skull. The biggest thing you'll see on the RM52-01 is the big skull made of rose gold in the middle of the watch face. This watch has a ceramic body, works with a hand winding mechanism, and only 30 of them were made.

Market price is ~$1,000,000.

Like DJ Khaled, Drake, and Romeo Beckham, Pharrell also has the Jacob and Co Five Time Zone. However, his model is fully set with factory diamonds on the bezel and dial that features pavé diamonds 

In the picture, the 49-year-old American musician, record producer and entrepreneur Pharrell Williams, wears a 44mm black ceramic Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Concept Carbon. 

The design of this watch is done by the same people behind Richard Mille and features a black skeleton dial with a linear chronograph and tourbillon.

It features a hand-wound tourbillon with linear chronograph minute counter with central sweep seconds hand, function selection indicator and power-reserve indication. Forged carbon case, openworked dial, black strap.

Its retail price is $310,000.

The much-anticipated premiere of Pharrell Williams as Louis Vuitton's Menswear creative director has finally taken place, living up to all expectations. On Tuesday, 20 June 2023, Pharrell pulled out all the stops, unveiling his inaugural collection for the esteemed French brand at the Pont Neuf bridge in Paris, captivating his international audience. From start to finish, attendees were treated to a memorable journey that kicked off as soon as they got the invitation for the Spring/Summer 2024 collection.

During his event, he was seen wearing the world's thinnest watch, the Richard Mille UP-01 Ferrari. Introduced in Maranello, Italy, the watch is exceptionally thin and light. The inner workings of the watch, known as its movement, weigh merely 2.82g. The entire watch, including the strap, comes in under 30g. The design of the casing differentiates this watch from competitors like Piaget and Bulgari. While these rivals have used the watch case as a base, Richard Mille managed to construct the whole movement inside a closed case.

The RM UP-01 is an exclusive model with just 150 pieces available and carries a hefty price tag of $1,750,000.
