MoonSwatch broke the internet when it was released on March 26th, 2022. Many chaotic scenes have been reported from around the world. The Dubai Mall and the Mall of the Emirates were a tumultuous scene when the two Swatch stores finally opened on launch day.

The Swatch store on Carnaby Street in London was forced to close after a large crowd was said to have gathered outside and been pushed forward. A viral video in Taipei, Taiwan, showed the mall just opening and what looked like a zombie apocalypse. Other cities around the world reported similar scenarios in stores.

When the MoonSwatch launched in March 2022, it quickly became a hot topic online. Swatch dealers around the world experienced long lines and fast inventory sales. People queued for hours for the chance to purchase his new MoonSwatch, and although the store allowed him to sell only two watches per customer, it sold out almost immediately. Swatch claimed it could not keep up with demand. Insane!

MoonSwatches sold on the gray market sell for two to three times its recommended retail price. Bizarre!

Four months after its release, as reported by Bloomberg, Swatch Group CEO Nick Hayek confirmed that following the MoonSwatch announcement, sales of Omega Speedmaster Moonwatch have increased by more than 50%. 

And recently in January 2023, SWATCH Group just confirmed that they sold a million MoonSwatch watches in 2022. Amazing!

Despite its plastic, cheap appearance, the watch has also attracted some celebrities. 

Let's see which celebrities have been spotted wearing this $260 watch so far.

Ed Sheeran, who is known to have a crazy multi-million dollar watch collection, surprisingly owns a $260 plastic MoonSwatch.

Specifically, Sheeran chose the version called "Mission to the Moon" which, among the 11 variants, most resembles the iconic Omega Speedmaster Moonwatch. 

It is a fully black bioceramic Omega × Swatch Speedmaster with a black bezel, a black dial, and the famous tachymeter scale in white, just like the original Moonwatch.

The MoonSwatch is essentially a toy Speedmaster...but it's got the stamp of approval from even the most legit and hardcore collectors like Sheeran. 

I know it might sound odd, since Ed Sheeran is known to casually wear million-dollar-plus watches from Patek Philippe to Richard Mille 

Surprisingly, in April 2022, the crown Prince of Johor, HRH Major General Tunku Ismail ibnu Sultan Ibrahim @hrhcrownprinceofjohor, was spotted on his Instagram story wearing the  MoonSwatch 'Mission to Uranus.'

In April 2022, the former Italian football player, Alessandro Matri, was spotted wearing a MoonSwatch 'Mission to Saturn' reference SO33T100.

This model is to be honest one of my favorite MoonSwatches.

On this model, cool sandy hues contrast nicely with a brown dial and a brown VELCRO® strap. The chronograph seconds hand, the hands of the smaller dials and the tachymeter scale are also brown.

Swedish football player Zlatan Ibrahimovic joined the list of celebrities or athletes with a plastic MoonSwatch. 

He was spotted wearing the MoonSwatch 'Mission to Mars' while attending the Serie A match between AC Milan and AC Monza at Stadion Giuseppe Meazza in Milan.

The watch pays tribute to Mars by showcasing bright red tones contrasted with a white velcro strap. Both subdials are shaped like a rocket shape, perhaps in reference to humanity's curiosity and long-time goal of reaching Mars. 

While celebrating the previous Christmas 2022 in Paris, Leonardo Bonucci posted his picture on his Instagram stories. We  a 42mm bioceramic Omega X Swatch “Moonswatch” “Mission to Neptune” Quartz Chronograph, ref. SO33N100, on his wrist.

Bonucci is an Italian professional footballer who plays as a center-back and captains both Serie A club Juventus and the Italy national team. Known for his technique and ball-playing ability, he is regarded as one of the best defenders of his generation, 

Recently, Daniel Craig speaks onstage during the National Board Of Review 2023 Awards Gala at Cipriani 42nd Street on January 08, 2023 in New York City. 

On stage, the former James Bond, and the actor who plays Benoit Blanc in the Glass Onion movie was seen wearing the MoonSwatch 'Mission to Neptune.' similar to the watch that was worn by the Italian Leonardo Bonucci.

Spotted at Mumbai Airport in December 2023, the superstar Shah Rukh Khan was seen wearing a $270 Bioceramic Swatch x Omega MoonSwatch 'Mission to Neptune.
