By now you’ve probably heard about the CasiOak collection by Casio G-Shock. In case you haven’t here’s what you should know. This nickname is particularly given to the Casio G-Shock GA-2100-1A1ER watch. The watch also derives this name from the well known Audemars Piguet Royal Oak for its iconic design and octagonal bezel. The octagonal bezel feature is also present in the Casio G-Shock watches. The watch was first introduced in 2019 but took two years after that to develop further.

CasiOak Features

The CasiOak showcases multiple features. One of them is that it is an analog- digital watch with an analog display of the time including minutes, hours, and the day of the week indication. It also shows the world time along with the stopwatch and countdown timer. You can add up to 5 daily alarms. While the watches are also found in materials like carbon fibre reinforced resin, we will be discussing in detail about the metal one here.

The average dimension of the watch is also 45 × 11.8mm. Casio G-Shock weighs around 72 g. It has a mineral crystal and the dials are available in red, black, silver, olive, and blue. The watch also has a super illuminator with Auto Light along with being shock resistant, and water resistant up to 200 meters. It shows a full-auto calendar along with a battery that sustains itself for three years.

Style and Design

The Casio G-Shock watch is greatly stylish and has an impeccable design. As mentioned above, the metal CasiOak has a metal octagonal bezel. The watch has a double LED light with an adjustable afterglow. Apart from the different dial colours, these watches can also be further customized. The steel case comes with a slightly different coating to be in line with the colour of the dial. Not only does the bezel made in steel, the dial also has a steel look to it. With just the right amount of thickness, these watches feel greatly comfortable on the wrist. These series of watches also have a better setting of the buttons. They are placed on the squares as well and hence are much more easily accessible. The downsizing of the diameter of the case has also led to better cutouts for the buttons.

The Making of the Watch

Vapour Deposition is a technique used to coat the watch’s dial in different layers. This, as the name of the technique suggests, is done through evaporation. Let us explain this further. The dial in this metal CasiOak is actually made of resin. But this vapour deposition technique helps to deposit the metal on to the dial and gives it its final steely look. One could never guess that the base of the watch is not metal but the outstanding finishing never makes you question.

Conclusion

The Casio G-Shock GA-2100-1A1ER is one tough watch. It is a great option for sports and outdoor activities. With the features like the nighttime visibility, the light function for the LCD screen, the mineral unit crystal, and the meticulously textured band, this watch is a great bargain.
