F1 Driver Fernando Alonso Watch Collection

Fernando Alonso Díaz, a Spanish racing driver, is racing for Aston Martin in Formula One in 2023. He clinched the World Drivers' Championship titles in 2005 and 2006 driving for Renault. He has also raced for teams like McLaren, Ferrari, and Minardi.

Fernando began his Formula 1 journey with Minardi in 2001, just shy of his 20th birthday. His talent in F3000 caught the attention of Flavio Briatore, who then became his manager and positioned him at Minardi, also linked to Benetton-Renault.

Alonso set many early records. On August 24, 2003, in Hungary, he became the youngest racer to win a Grand Prix at just 22 years and 28 days old. By 2005, he was the world's youngest champion at 24 years and 59 days with Renault. He followed this up the next year by becoming the youngest racer to win two World Championships. While these records have been surpassed over time, they stand as a testament to Alonso's early achievements in the sport.

Outside the track, Alonso has an eye for luxury watches just like his fellow drivers Max Verstappen, Charles LeClerc, Lando Norris, Lewis Hamilton, George Russell, Carlos Sainz Jr., and Daniel Ricciardo. Currently, he exclusively collects Richard Mille watches. However, who knows? We might see him flaunting watches from other elite brands in the future.

For now, let's check out Fernando Alonso watch collection.

Starting with the collaborative effort of Richard Mille and McLaren, we note that this is the same watch Lando Norris and Daniel Ricciardo wear. At the 2018 Geneva International Motor Show, these two giants unveiled their first co-designed timepiece, named the RM 11-03 Automatic Flyback Chronograph McLaren.

This piece, the RM 11-03 McLaren, was intricately crafted under the watchful eye of McLaren Design Director Rob Melville, following the partnership's inception between McLaren Automotive and Richard Mille.

Their joint appreciation for distinctive design, avant-garde materials, and modern craftsmanship is evident in this wristwatch.

The casing of the RM 11-03 McLaren stands out, constructed from Carbon TPT® interlaced with Orange Quartz TPT®. Not only is this combination incredibly strong and light, but it also pays homage to a classic McLaren hue.

Globally, only 500 units of this watch are available.

Retailing at approximately $191,500, its market value is around $500,000.

The watch features a 40 mm NTPT Carbon case that encases a transparent chronograph dial adorned with a red flange and contrasting black details. Powering the piece is an automatic Flyback chronograph movement, which offers functionalities like hours, minutes, and seconds, a 60-minute countdown timer, a 12-hour totalizer, and prominent displays for both the date and month.

Market price: ~$350,000.
